Btw, bad news.. I heard that some japanese online hobby shop have already closed their pre-orders for Haruhi!

I say don't worry about it. The reservation deadline is Feb 2007, and most of the online figure sites (hobbystock, amiami, 1999) have stopped preorders probably because they're afraid that they can't fulfil them. Anyway, they have only taken temporary reservations. Once the real figure comes out, don't be surprised to see the preorders open again.
Max Factory will be mad to only limit this Haruhi to 5000 figures. The anime just recently ended, so making a figure like this is like printing money. Plus, they've already semi-announced Yuki and Mikuru, so it wouldn't make sense to limit Haruhi (or all of them) to 5000 pieces. I say a second shipment will come out once the initial buzz about this figure has died down a bit.
I don't like what they've done here. It's a marketing strategy that instigates a feeling of starvation in the consumers hearts. I mean, stuff like this:
http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r31332350
... has already begun (Yahoo.jp! auctions - guaranteed reservation of the Max Fac Haruhi figure. last checked price = JPY18,500).
