Nice.

Building/buying cabinets is dangerous ... having empty shelves means a desperate need to fill it up quick

This collector has some spaces to fill.

There used to be one guy in defunct play.com Malaysia forum who had rows and rows of neat IKEA Detolf shelves in a special collection room in his house, got nice curtains, parquette floor board and aircond. But fluorescent white tube lighting lah. Another guy had nice glass/wood white cabinets with his statues, and he also got life sized Biology skeleton prop in his room which I think also served as bedroom. But he sold all his stuff off liao.

The guy that u mentioned goes by the nick of Statuefreak, at 1 time he used to have all the grail & high end pieces but he suddenly sold off everything. I never did ask the reason why.

The main reason why we cant have those fancy display option is because of $$$ issue. I'm not referring to all but the majority of local collectors have the same problem. I know there are quite a lot of high income earners here and we have yet to see their collections.

Custom built cabinets, display option, etc is not cheap in Malaysia....another setback. I knew someone who collects alcohol, he display all of them in a large glass cabinet which he custom built with lights. And i really do mean large as in it occupied 1 of the whole wall section in his living room. I was told it cost RM12k to assembled, material + labor. But then again, I'm no expert in this field, just telling what he told me.

Another reason is that US collectors can get almost everything ( especially Sideshow products )at a cheaper price compare to us. Shipping fees & currency exchange gonna get you killed man.

Oh yeah, his name was statuefreak. ^^

Anyways, yeah, everything is expensive. There was this dude overseas who has 1:1 fiber glass statues of Jin Kazama from Tekken 4. The official statue for display at video game stores. I forgot the European company's name. Oh, now I remember, Oxmox. He also had 1:1 Oxmox Batman, Tomb Raider Lara Croft and others.

1490 Euro dollars.
6 feet tall and 60kg!!! Fulamak.

You know what I think?
I think those businessmen dudes, they have a way to renovate their collection rooms and get these 1:1 statues.
Maybe they use borrowed money for business to supplement collection purchases.
